Largest-ever heroin haul seized in Dublin
Six men have been arrested after the largest-ever heroin seizure in the State last night.
The arrests follow a lengthy surveillance operation by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit and detectives from Store St and Harcourt Square.
A car was stopped on Conyngham Road and eight kilos of the drug with a street value of £2m were discovered concealed in a spare wheel.
Four Scottish men, one Englishman and one Irishman were detained and are currently being questioned at Kilmainham and Store St Garda stations.
Gardai said £200,000 was also recovered in the course of the operation, which they said broke up the activities of a major heroin importation gang.
