IFA rejects criticism of animal cull

The Irish Farmers Association has insisted that the slaughter of livestock in Co. Louth is being carried out in a humane manner.

Responding to criticism from some quarters, the IFA said the mass cull of animals at risk of contracting foot and mouth disease is not being conducted cruelly.
