Holiday in Ireland this summer - Fine Gael

Fine Gael has called on the public to take holidays at home this summer to offset the heavy losses suffered by the tourist industry due to foot- and-mouth.

Party spokesman with responsibility for tourism, Jim Higgins, said such a move would make a substantial contribution towards compensating the industry for its loss of foreign visitors.
