Australia today eased restrictions on the import of agricultural and food products from Ireland, imposed because of the UK foot-and-mouth outbreak.

The move, welcomed by Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh, followed strong representations mounted by members of the Government throughout last weekend’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Australia.
