Haughey out of danger

Former Taoiseach Charles Haughey is believed to be out of danger.

His son Sean told reporters that his father is expected to make a full recovery.

Mr Haughey was rushed to hospital in the early hours of the morning after he suffered a suspected heart attack.

Sean Haughey said his father had not had a heart attack but was suffering from a serious heart condition which led to an irregular heartbeat.

The ventilator has been removed from Mr Haughey and he is believed to have regained consciousness.

He is expected to be moved out of intensive care tomorrow.

Sean Haughey said he did not know how long his father will be kept in hospital.
