Haughey rushed to hospital for emergency operation

Former Taoiseach Charles Haughey has been rushed to hospital.

Former Taoiseach Charles Haughey has been rushed to hospital.

He was admitted to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin at around 1.30am this morning, where he underwent emergency surgery.

There are unconfirmed reports that he suffered a heart attack.

Mr Haughey has been in poor health for some time since being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1995.
