Gilligan to appeal against conviction and severity of sentence
It has been confirmed that John Gilligan will appeal against both his conviction for drugs offences and the severity of the sentence.
John Rice, Gilligan’s lawyer, said: "The fight goes on to establish his innocence. While he is relieved to have been acquitted of the firearms charges and the count of murder, he is disappointed at the severity of the sentence.
