ILDA move 'bad news' - Iarnrod Eireann

Iarnrod Eireann has described the ILDA's decision to join the ATGWU as bad news for Irish rail users.

Spokesperson Barry Kenny said the move would only increase the inter-union rivalry within the company.

The LRC/Labour Court report into last summer's rail dispute had described the emergence of a third negotiating force in the locomotive drivers' grade as clearly a very negative development, he said.

90% of ILDA members voted in a secret postal ballot over the weekend to join the ATGWU.
