Riverdance creator honoured
One of the biggest exporters of Irish music, Bill Whelan, has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award.
The accolade by the Irish Music Rights Organisation was presented to the musician at Dublin Castle last night to honour his contribution to Irish traditional music.
A glittering gala reception for the man who created Riverdance was attended by stars including Brian Kennedy, The Corrs and U2 manager Paul McGuinness.
