CIE in major foot and mouth campaign

CIE has joined the fight against foot and mouth disease with a major disinfection and publicity campaign.

Iarnrod Eireann, Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus are asking their passengers to co-operate with the plan to stop the spread of the contagious disease.

With the arrival of the first train from Belfast this morning, the rail company placed disinfectant mats at Dundalk, Drogheda and Connolly Stations.

They have also asked NI Railways to do the same.

Bus and train announcements are warning of the dangers of the disease and bins have been provided for passengers to deposit prohibited food items.
