Man gunned down in Lurgan
Northern First Minister David Trimble is appealing for information after a Catholic man was shot dead in Lurgan last night.
The man, who was in his 40s, died at the scene of the shooting.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the death, which is not thought to be sectarian.
The victim was sitting at the wheel of a white Toyota at around 8pm on North Street in the mainly nationalist area on Lurgan.
A gunman approached him and opened fire through the passenger window.
The victim was shot several times and died at the scene, where he was discovered slumped over the wheel of his car.
Mr Trimble said the killing involved a lethal combination of lawlessness and illegal weapons.
Local SDLP Councillor Dolores Kelly said people were shocked at what was "a brutal and savage murder".
