Foot and mouth could affect poll date

Britain's seven-day ban on transporting livestock looks set to be extended.

It has emerged that up to 25,000 cattle, sheep and pigs may have passed through three marts at the centre of the country's foot and mouth outbreak in the week before the nationwide ban on moving livestock.
