Marts ban as foot and mouth crisis worsens

The Government last night imposed a temporary ban on the country’s 120 livestock marts as the devastating foot and mouth disease spread in Britain.

Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh said the ban is aimed at minimising animal movements and traffic from farms.
