Tests are continuing at over 600 farms throughout England as officials attempt to stop the spread of the highly contagious foot and mouth disease.

There has been no sign of the disease here or in the North and Scottish investigators say that there is no sign that the disease has crossed their border.

Minister for Agriculture, Joe Walsh, has confirmed that the EU ban on all UK farm produce will continue to be kept, including the North, until the scare has passed.

Meanwhile officials from the British Ministry of Agriculture now believe that the disease may have originated in Asia and reached England in animal feed products.
