Ireland suffering from major drink problem

The Irish public's level of drinking has rocketed by 57% since the 1980s, according to figures released at a major World Health Organisation conference in Stockholm this morning.

The WHO says the average Irish drinker now down 10.8 litres of pure alcohol each year.
