Two sick babies airlifted to Dublin

Helicopters have been involved in two mercy airlifts to bring seriously ill babies from the west to Dublin.

In the latest incident, a two-day-old baby was airlifted by a coastguard helicopter from Tralee General Hospital.

Earlier, an Aer Corps Dauphin helicopter took a new-born infant in an incubator from Castlebar to the capital.

The Coastguard in Dublin co-ordinated both operations.
