Roads claim pensioner's life

Gardai in Longford are investigating a road accident in which a man in his seventies was killed.

The accident occurred at Knock-Loughlin in foggy conditions at around 8.30pm yesterday.

It is thought that the man was hit by a passing car.

The name of the deceased will not be released until all family members have been informed on his death.
