Inspector face charges

An inspector with the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs has appeared in court in Drogheda charged with failing to declare income between 1995 and 1998.

43-year-old Matthew Birch, of Marsh Road, Dundalk, was charged with failing to declare income between 1995 and 1998.

The charges are a result of an investigation by the Criminal Assets Bureau into the assets of known subversives in the border region.
