Gardai in western clampdown

Gardai in the west are clamping down on law-breaking motorists today, with 80 checkpoints being set up across four counties.

The operation is being concentrated on counties Sligo, Mayo, Galway and Roscommon amid concerns by gardai at the number of motorists driving untaxed and uninsured vehicles.
