Two of the attacks came in the Co Derry town of Limavady.

One bomb exploded in the front garden of a home in Eventide Gardens and another was thrown at a house on Edenmore Park.

In Co Tyrone, a third device, consisting of a firework with nails taped to it, was thrown at a house in Gortnasaor, Dungannon.

Meanwhile, the rail line between Newry and Dundalk remains closed today as searches continue following reports of an explosion near Killeavy in south Co Down last night.
