Aer Lingus and unions to meet at Labour Court

Aer Lingus flights will resume as normal this morning as further efforts get underway to resolve the cabin crew row that grounded planes yesterday.

Some 16,000 passengers were stranded by the dispute.

A special hearing of the Labour Court has been convened for this afternoon.

Yesterday's stoppage cost Aer Lingus about £2m in lost revenue.

The next strike is planned for Friday of next week.

Meanwhile, the row at British Midland over its ground handling services at Dublin Airport is continuing. The airline was forced to cancel six flights yesterday.
