E-Island seeks speedy eircom negotiations

The consortium led by Denis O'Brien that is bidding to buy eircom said it hopes negotiations can be progressed quickly.

E-Island has issued a statement confirming a second approach has been made to buy the company's non-mobile business, including its Internet concern.

There is no mention of a figure, but the bid is believed to be in the region of £1.9bn.
