Pensioner dies in Co Kerry accident

An elderly woman has died following a road accident in Co Kerry.

The woman, believed to be in her mid-eighties, died after she was knocked down in Castlecove in the south of the county at around 6.40pm yesterday.

Her name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

Meanwhile, gardai have named the motorcyclist who died following a collision with a car yesterday in Co Meath.

He was Martin Browne, aged 20, from Woodview Court, Dunboyne, Co Meath.

He was pronounced dead at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan after his motorcycle hit a car near Batterstown at lunchtime yesterday.
