Bid to end British Midlands dispute
British Midlands staff will return to work at Dublin Airport tomorrow in an effort to resolve the dispute that is threatening to disrupt flights.
Staff have decided to return to work tomorrow and Saturday, but strike action is planned for Sunday and Monday.
The protests have resulted from plans by British Midland - who today announced a change of name to BMI and a new corporate image - to transfer their ground operations in Dublin to a new firm, Gatwick Handling International.
The union representing the picketers, the ATGWU, says the company has not made an adequate compensation offer.
