New Northern Secretary meets Trimble and Mallon

The new Northern Secretary John Reid has had his first formal meeting with First Minister David Trimble and his deputy, Seamus Mallon.

Speaking as he emerged from the hour-long meeting at Castle buildings in Stormont, Mr Trimble said there was still a window of opportunity to solve the problems of policing, demilitarisation and decommissioning.
