Gardai on lookout for escaped prisoner

Gardai are hunting for a prisoner who escaped from custody last night while being transported from a Dublin court to Cork prison.

Patrick Brassil, who is in his twenties and serving a 10-year jail sentence in Cork jail, pulled a syringe on prison officers when the prison van was in the Rathcoole area of Co Dublin.
