Schoolgirl dies in road skid

A 13-year-old girl has died in a road accident in County Wexford.

The teenager was being driven to Gorey Community School by her mother when their car went out of control on black ice at Tonsilla on the Courtown Road, and crashed into an oncoming four-wheel drive.

The girl died at the scene, while her mother is receiving treatment for neck injuries at Wexford General Hospital.
