Gilligan defence query Warren's account of Guerin murder

Lawyers for John Gilligan are continuing to cross-examine State supergrass Russell Warren about his account of what happened the day Veronica Guerin was murdered.

Counsel for Mr Gilligan, Terence McDonnell SC, repeatedly accused the witness of being unable to tell the truth.

Mr McDonnell queried Mr Warren's claim that he had not arrived in Naas on the day of the murder until 12pm.

He said that previously during the trial of Brian Meehan, Mr Warren had stated that he had been in Naas by 11am.

"Everything I say, you say is wrong," Mr Warren replied. "It must have been 11.00 then".
