Inflation figures drop

Inflation figures just released are showing a 1.1% drop on last month's figure when it reached a 16-year high of 7%. The consumer price index is currently running at 5.9%

The fall is even bigger than expected and is the news the Government has been waiting months for. Fuel prices and a supermarket price war are among the contributing factors.
