Fresh hope in teachers' dispute

The teachers dispute could by resolved early next week following the intervention of Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.

The striking Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland confirmed last night that it was in contact with the Taoiseach on the dispute, which closed 176 schools across Munster today.
