Huge over-estimation for Cattle Destruction Scheme numbers, IFA says

The IFA has said it believes there is a huge over-estimation of the numbers of cattle quoted for slaughter when the anti-BSE Cattle Destruction Scheme begins tomorrow.

IFA President Tom Parlon said the estimated figure of 750,000 animals was well off the mark, adding that the IFA's priority was to get as many cattle as possible onto the marketplace.
