Taoiseach accused of turning back on rural Ireland

Fine Gael is claiming that the Taoiseach is turning his back on rural Ireland by approving the closure of one in five Bank of Ireland branches around the country.

Mayo Deputy Michael Ring says the move will devastate communities and that it is time Bertie Ahern states exactly what the Government policy is on rural Ireland.
