UDA suspected of Belfast murder

The loyalist Ulster Defence Association is today suspected of involvement in the murder of a man whose body was discovered on the outskirts of south Belfast.

Loyalist sources say that the man, until recently a senior figure in the UDA, had recently fallen out of favour with the terrorist group.

His battered body was found in a field yesterday afternoon.

Although a motive for the killing was not immediately apparent, sources are claiming it could be linked to drugs.

A full murder investigation is underway.
