Threat of street protests if Adair is not freed

Loyalists this evening threatened to mount a series of street protests if UFF leader Johnny Adair is not freed from prison. John White of the UDP, the political wing of the UFF, said a major rally was being considered for outside Government buildings in Belfast. White also warned that such protests may turn violent. "I would be appealing for any demonstrations to be orderly and disciplined, but who knows what can happen if you get large numbers of people together", he said.
