Freezing weather to return tonight

Arctic conditions are set to return to Ireland later this evening, with forecasts of air temperatures plummeting to -4 degrees in places by midnight. Met Eireann has warned motorists to be conscious of black ice on roads, adding that inland areas will be worst affected.
