"Eat your greens" says Sonia O'Sullivan

Sonia O'Sullivan is joining a campaign to encourage Irish people to eat their greens today. The Olympic silver medallist has joined forces with An Bord Glas to kick-start a campaign aimed at improving our daily diets.

In a new healthy eating billboard promotion starting today, people will be encouraged to eat at least four portions of fruit and vegetables every day. Although figures show that 74% of the population already do this, the campaign is aimed particularly at primary and secondary schoolchildren. An Bord Glas are highlighting expert opinions that just four helpings of fruit and vegetables could help protect against two of Ireland's main killers - health disease and cancer. Sonia is joining the campaign from Melbourne, Australia, where she is enjoying a balanced diet as she prepares for the World Cross-Country Championships in Dublin next March. Now, she is hoping people will follow her example rather than reaching for fatty fast-foods.
