A violent burglar who claimed he was never inside the victims’ home has had an appeal against conviction dismissed.

Duku Popovici, aged 43, with an address in Cabra Park, Dublin 7, had pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary at the home of James and Sarah Quigley in Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, on September 26, 2013.

Popovici was found guilty at Clonmel Circuit Criminal Court and sentenced on July 23, 2015, to 12 years in jail, with two suspended.
