A celebrity doctor, two comedians, two actresses, a sports broadcaster, a news reporter, a Big Brother contestant, a model, a boyband member, and a Kerry GAA player will all be putting on their dancing shoes for RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars.

The long-awaited line-up for the first Irish version of the international franchise was announced as Eva Orsmond of Celebrity Transformation and Sugar Crash fame, comedians Des Bishop and Katherine Lynch, Aoibhin Garrihy from Fair City, Denise McCormack from Red Rock, RTÉ sports broadcaster Des Cahill, RTÉ reporter Teresa Mannion — who became an overnight social media sensation for her ‘don’t take risks on treacherous roads’ report on Storm Desmond — Dayl Cronin from boyband Hometown, who also appeared on Big Brother, and Kerry footballer Aidan O’Mahony.

Dr Orsmond said the “opportunity could not have come at a better time in my life”.
