Aldi to create 400 jobs in 20 stores in €100m expansion

German discount retailer Aldi has announced it is to open 20 stores across the country over the next three years, creating 400 jobs in the process.

The €100m expansion programme will initially see stores opening in Ennistymon, Co Clare; Trim, Co Meath; and Leixlip, Co Kildare in early 2017.

The retailer said it is currently in the planning process for an additional five new stores in 2017 as well as nine extensions to its existing locations.
