€60k settlement for bench collapse

A man who was injured when a bench he was sitting on suddenly collapsed has settled his High Court action for €60,000.

The High Court was told the bench had been bought and assembled just weeks before the accident.

Raymond Kingston, aged 49, suffered a dislocated shoulder and had three seizures after he hit his head when the bench collapsed as he sat on it three years ago.
