A judge said yesterday that ‘peace now reigns’ between two west Clare brothers who were before the court on charges arising from friction between the two.

At Kilrush District Court, Judge Patrick Durcan told Daniel Hayes, 61, and Michael Hayes, 65, both of Carnanes, Kilrush “to remove from yourselves any bitterness or bile you may have towards each other”.

He told the two: “It is a very short road we travel in this life.”
