Inquiry ongoing into fatal assault on musician

Gardaí say they are following a definite line of enquiry in the investigation into the death of a popular trad musician who died following an assault outside a pub in North Cork a fortnight ago.

Finbar Lehane, aged 65, suffered serious injuries when he was assaulted in Kanturk in the early hours of Monday, October 24.

Mr Lehane was rushed to Cork University Hospital immediately after the assault.
