Girl ‘assaulted while lending hairdryer’

A six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old neighbour after her mother told her to bring a hairdryer over to the house, a jury was told yesterday.

The man, who is accused of two counts of indecently assaulting the girl during the summer of 1988, has denied both counts against him.

Defence barrister Peter O’Flynn said the accused completely denied the indecent assaults. Furthermore, Mr O’Flynn, BL, said the accused denied the complainant was ever in his house, and said he never borrowed a hairdryer from her family.
