A goalkeeper at Cork City FC who pleaded guilty to assault causing harm received an 18-month suspended sentence yesterday.

Eric Grimes, of Ravendale Close, Mahon, Cork, had pleaded guilty to assaulting Kevin O’Mahony on December 22, 2014.

The assault occurred at Grand Parade in Cork when Mr Grimes approached Mr O’Mahony. He pushed him to the ground and kicked him in the head.
