A boy who had to have one of his legs amputated at the knee after an accident with a ride-on lawnmower in his grandparents’ garden has settled his High Court action for €1.3m

The High Court heard that Conor Dufficy was just over five years old when the accident happened as his father cut the grass with the ride-on mower.

Conor was playing in the garden. He ran out from under a high shrub and slipped as he tried to avoid the mower and his left foot went under the machine.
