Yesterday, he was jailed for two years.

Sergeant Annamarie Guiney said that, at one stage, Jason Quilligan, 21, stopped his car and reversed at speed in the direction of the garda motorcycle following him at the junction of Grattan Hill and Lower Glanmire Rd.

Judge David Riordan imposed a three-year term on Quilligan. He suspended the last on condition that he co-operate with the probation service and undertake an alcohol treatment programme on his release. He banned him from driving for five years. Quilligan pleaded guilty to endangerment arising out of the incident at Grattan St.

Quilligan from 6, Annalee Grove, Mayfield, Cork, admitted all the charges against him at Cork Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.
