An eight-year-old girl who suffered anxiety and stress after she was accidently locked in a classroom for 25 minutes has settled a damages case in the Circuit Civil Court for €20,000.

Barrister Lorna Lynch told the court that Kate Deegan was five on December 10, 2013, when the incident happened at Mourne Road National School, Mourne Rd, Drimnagh, Dublin.

Ms Lynch told the court the door had been locked, the windows were locked, and the lights switched off.
