Man ‘smacked wife with food’ outside chipper

A woman leaving her local chipper before midnight got into an altercation with her husband, who grabbed her parcel of food and smacked her in the face with it.

That was the allegation made yesterday by Linda Gosnell in a contested case against Patrick Gosnell at Cork District Court.

Patrick Gosnell, of Mount Sion Rd, Cork, pleaded not guilty to a charge of breaching a protection order by putting his wife in fear as she walked home from Lennox’s chip shop on Bandon Rd.
