66% of roads damaged in storms have been repaired

Senior council executive road engineer Dave Clarke told an East Cork Municipal District meeting repairs had been completed on 31 of 47 roads, some of which had been significantly damaged and closed after storms.

Repairs ranged from the L3804-44 at Glenaphuca near Dungourney which would cost €3,000, to the L3809-24 Mogeely-Killeagh road, requiring €237,000. He said €2m was required to repair the damage but the county council provided €1.57m from an €11.5m allocation.
