Cork businessman Richard Neville dies unexpectedly

Mr Neville, a cousin of Dunnes Stores chief executive Margaret Heffernan and businessman Ben Dunne, was best known for his Neville Brothers Bakery, which provides Dunnes Stores with its own-brand bread.
Mr Neville’s ventures provided significant employment in his home town of Macroom, where Neville Brothers Bakery had operated up until 2003.
Local councillor Ted Lucey paid tribute to Mr Neville.
“He brought huge employment to the town over the years, and I think a lot of families locally will be reflecting and thinking about that today,” Cllr Lucey said.
“It is a big loss to his family and his own community, you would often meet him in the park while walking his dogs and he would stop to say hello.
“He was a gentleman in every way.”
Mr Neville passed away unexpectedly at the Mater Hospital Cork on Saturday. He is survived by his wife Muriel and children Linda, John, Richard, Muriel and Don.
Mr Neville will lie in repose in St Colman’s Church Macroom from 6pm tomorrow with prayers at 8pm, before Requiem Mass on Wednesday at noon, followed by a cremation.
